Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring accurate and efficient transactions at the point of sale. The ideal candidate will have strong math skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide assistance with their purchases
- Operate cash registers and POS systems to process transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels
- Promote sales by offering additional products or services
- Stand for long periods of time as well as carry up to 50 pounds
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Cashier or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of retail math concepts (e.g., calculating discounts, sales tax)
- Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and electronic payment methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of phone etiquette
- Experience in retail sales or jewelry sales is an advantage
